Udupi: Damage to graves at CSI Church - Miscreant arrested

India(Karnataka):He had entered the cemetery of the CSI church on Saturday and had damaged the crucifix and the graves.

Kaup police arrested the miscreant who damaged the crucifix and the graves of the CSI Church of Manipura. He is remanded to judicial custody.

The arrested culprit is identified as Bheema Linga alias Nagaraja (24), a native of Kottur in Ballary district. He is a migrant labourer. He had entered the cemetery of the CSI church on Saturday and had damaged the crucifix and the graves. A local resident who saw the act of the young man had informed the same to the manager of the church. When the manger tried to catch the culprit, he had escaped from the spot.

The local, who saw the act, had clicked the photo of the culprit. Based on this evidence, the police arrested the man from Katapadi on Sunday, August 12. The police have clarified that the culprit did this under the influence of alcohol and he did not have any other ulterior motive for the act.
